Exova Materials Testing Singapore has recently set-up a state-of-the-art Hydrogen-Sulphide Stress Corrosion Cracking test laboratory to provide sour service corrosion testing services to the South East Asia region especially for off-shore and oil & gas industries to ascertain the suitability of steel in various applications such as deep water oil and gas pipelines and their welding procedures.
Sour Service Corrosion
Cracking involving corrosion and tensile stress in the presence of water and H2S is a major problem for oilfield structures that contain H2S and can cause cracking of materials by the mechanisms known as SSC.
Testing in Hydrogen Sulphide containing environments is undertaken in a number of the Group's laboratories. The most extensive facility is situated at the Exova Corrosion Centre. Singapore Test facilities established based on the decade old proven technology by qualified internationally recognised experienced team.
H2S (SSC/HIC) corrosion test
- Sulfide Stress Cracking Test (NACE TM0177, FEC16 &17)
- Hydrogen Induced Cracking Test (NACE TM 0284).
