Dedicated Corrosion Testing Facilities

We provide a wide variety of testing which can be undertaken to evaluate corrosion resistance to a range of environments and conditions in which the materials may be exposed to during their service life. Our lab can provide one of the largest ranges of corrosive testing in Singapore.

Intergranular Corrosion (ASTM A262):

The lab offers intergranular corrosion analysis & testing according to the following ASTM A262 Practices:
  • ASTM A262 A — Oxalic Acid Test
  • ASTM A262 C — Nitric Acid (Huey Test)
  • ASTM A262 E — Copper/Copper Sulfate (Strauss Test)

Passivation of Stainless Steels
(ASTM A967):

We also offer passivation tests according to the following ASTM A967 Practices:
  • ASTM A967 A — Water Immersion Test
  • ASTM A967 C — Salt Spray Test
  • ASTM A967 D — Copper Sulfate Test
  • ASTM A967 E — Potassium Ferricyanide–Nitric Acid Test (Ferroxyl Test)
  • ASTM A967 F — Free Iron Test.

Sour Service Corrosion Testing
(HIC & SSC tests):

Our state-of-the-art Hydrogen Sulfide Stress Corrosion Cracking test facility has been set-up to provide sour service corrosion testing (HIC and SSC tests) locally for ascertaining the suitability of steel in various applications such as deep water oil & gas pipelines and their respective welding procedures.   • ASTM G28 — Intergranular Corrosion Susceptibility tests for Wrought, Nickel-rich, & Chromium-bearing alloys
  • ASTM G36 - Chloride Stress Corrosion Cracking tests for Stainless & Nickel-based alloys using a boiling Magnesium Chloride solution
  • ASTM G48 A — Pitting & Crevice Corrosion tests for stainless steels & related alloys using a Ferric Chloride solution
  • ASTM B117 - Salt Spray tests in order to evaluate corrosion resistance for organic & inorganic protective coatings
