Exova is known worldwide for state-of-the-art laboratories—but sometimes the testing performed on-site is just as crucial.

Exova Singapore provides a variety of non-destructive PMI, hardness and metallographic services to assist in finding testing solutions when lab based testing is neither possible or practicable.

In-Situ Metallography & Microscopy

• A portable microscope with multiple magnifications makes it possible to examine microstructures and artifacts on location, without the traditional laboratory examination.

On-Site Metallographic Replication

• Other microscopic conditions—such as tears, cracks or small defects— may be replicated on-site, and brought back to the lab for further microscopic analysis.

On-Site PMI Positive Material Identification

• With Exova’s portable SPECTROTESTTM OES, on-site PMI becomes a convenient solution for chemical analysis providing results such as carbon in low-alloy steels and nitrogen in duplex steels—which other methods can’t match.

On-Site Ferrite Percentage Testing

• For line pipe or other structures already in service, a portable Ferrite-scope allows for percentage ferrite measurements on location.

On-Site Hardness Testing

• Using a portable Equotip 2 hardness tester, Leeb surface hardness values are converted to conventional scales without destructive testing.
